After looking at more symbolic or initial based logos I decided to look at other typographic logos, I found a couple of blog posts which had some great examples of logos. Some of the logos are minimalistic and others are just clever but there were little bits which I found inspiring.

I was attracted to the Delaform logo because it uses a simple idea of the four colours, albeit an idea which is very common, but I like the fact that it overlaps and it reminds me of the artwork of an artist callled Alan Kitching and the way that he printed and arranged letters on a page. I feel inspired by this logo especially when working with my initials because they are difficult to work with but i think if I could apply this method it might look better.
I like the idea of the Ripple logo because the type is showing the word itself and it's what I would call clever design however although I find it pretty I wouldn't know how to use this in my own work.

Sevensparrows I think is a good little logo I like how there are seven sparrows on the letters and I like the use of colour. All of the four logos above have imagery as part of their logo, this being the reason I call them 'clever' logos. This is an idea I like and I may use in some of my ideas as the amount of typography in my project may be over whelming and may disguise my logo so I think using an image acompanyment like this would be a good idea to look into. I also like how Foot, Green bean and Parengo Publishing are all hand drawn in some way and that is also another idea that I will look into for my project as I like hand drawn type.
